How to do CPR safely & effectively with the use of an AED Machine on Adult/Child.
How to check for breathing and response.
How to help and Adult/Child if they are choking.
How to call for help, call Emergency Services & Check scene is safe.
Learning outcomes
How to Call for Help or Call Emergency Services (999)
Verbalises scene is safe – checks for response (Tap & Shout)
CPR for Adult and Child.
Compressions – Moves clothes out of the way, locates hand placement (lower half of breastbone) 1 or 2 hands for Child. 30 compressions in 18 seconds or less.
Breaths without mask – visible chest rise – compressions started within 10 seconds.
Breaths with Mask – visible chest rise – compressions started within 10 seconds.
Use of AED (turns on immediately after it arrives) Checks for Breathing or only gasping (minimum 5 seconds; maximum 10 seconds)
