Prevention, Detection and Management of Abuse of Vulnerable Persons.

Includes : Safeguarding Children.

Aimed at All Staff.
Goals of the course
  • To ensure a consistent, appropriate, and person-centred response to the reporting, management of suspicions, and/or allegations relating to Abuse.

  • To understand and meet requirements set out in Section 8 – Protection - the National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland (HIQA).

  • Understand HSE National Policy and Procedures relating to Elder Abuse.

  • Implications of not reporting suspected Abuse.

    Learning outcomes
    • Define Abuse and identify the types of Abuse.

    • Recognise the signs and symptoms that Abuse is taking place.

    • How to deal with reporting Abuse.

    • Implications of not reporting suspected Abuse.
